Brewed to Perfection: Anna & Dominic Lauer’s Pacific Northwest Love Story
The Lauer’s love story started in the most unexpected way - thanks to a sister’s matchmaking and a coffeehouse joke. On June 18, 2024, the couple began their next adventure with a beautifully whimsical wedding in Cedar Springs, Washington. Our team at Something Blue in Houston, Texas was so lucky to have played the part of helping Anna find the perfect dress for their big day. We are so honored that Anna was kind enough to not only share the story of their beginning with us, but allow us to share it with you as well. That being said, buckle up for this tale of curiosity, a blind date to remember, and most importantly - an undeniable connection.
The Set-Up
It all started at Pilgrim Coffeehouse, where Anna’s quick wit and humor instantly caught the eye of her coworker, Audrey - Dominic’s sister. One day, after a particularly funny moment, Audrey casually told Anna, “You should marry my brother.” Anna’s response? “Let me know when he moves back to Washington.”
Months passed, and Audrey kept hyping up Dominic, describing him as funny, kind, and a man of faith. When Audrey dropped the bombshell that Dominic was in fact actually moving back to Washington, Anna’s interest piqued. After all, this mystery man had a lot going for him, and when Audrey finally shared a photo of Dominic, Anna couldn’t deny he was cute. Still, there were plenty of questions: What’s he like? Does he like coffee? Cats?
The Blind Date
January 28, 2024, was the day Anna and Dominic finally met in person. Anna, nervous as ever, had a chaotic shift at Pilgrim before their lunch date - spilling coffee, fumbling with tasks, and praying everything would go smoothly. When Dominic walked in, Anna thought he was way cuter than the photo she’d seen. Dominic, on the other hand, was instantly struck by her sparkling blue eyes.
Their lunch together flowed effortlessly. Afterward, they decided to take a spontaneous trip to Golden Gardens beach, where they strolled for hours, chatting and discovering how much they had in common. A defining moment came when Dominic, noticing Anna didn’t have a water bottle, offered her a juice box from his car. Instead of questioning the oddity of a grown man keeping juice boxes in his car, Anna simply asked, “Is it apple juice?” (It was.) That moment of easy understanding and shared humor marked the start of something special.
As the day went on, their connection deepened. They ended up at dinner, and before they knew it, almost eight hours had passed. They agreed to stay in touch, and from that moment on, both knew they had something worth pursuing.
The Big Day
Their relationship only grew stronger from there. Through time and dedication, Anna and Dominic continued to support each other, laugh together, and build a life. And on June 18, 2024, they celebrated their love with an intimately personal wedding in Cedar Springs, Washington.
Anna was radiant in a crepe fit-and-flare gown with sparkling billowy bishop sleeves, paired with a colorful embroidered lace veil. The day was a perfect reflection of their love - unique, vibrant, and full of joy. To tie it all together - they even had a coffee hour featuring the coffeehouse that started it all!
